Eligibility Criteria
· Educational Qualification
For Science Subject:
- Candidates should have passed Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and English from Education Boards recognised by Central, States and UT with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50 marks in English.
- Passed Three years Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Automobile/Computer Science/Instrumentation Technology/Information Technology) from central, state and UT recognised Polytechnic institute with % marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in Diploma Course (Or in Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Diploma Course)
- Passed Two years Vocational Course with non-vocational subject viz. Physics and mathematics from Education Boards recognised by Central, State and UT with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English Vocational Course (or in Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Vocational Course).
For Other than Science Subjects:
- Passed Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent Examination in any stream/subjects from Education Boards recognised by Central, State and UT with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
- Essential Requirements:
- Education Boards recognised by Central State and UT as on of registration shall only be considered.
- Candidates eligible for Science Subjects examination also eligible for Other than Science Subjects and would be given option of appearing in both examinations in one sitting.

Selection Process
Online Test: Objective type test (bilingual – English & Hindi except English Paper)
- Science Subjects: 60 minutes – Physics, Mathematics and English as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus
- Both (Science & Other than Science): 85 minutes – Physics Mathematics, English and RAGA
- Marking pattern: +1 marks for correct answer, 0 unattempted, -0.25 for wrong answer
- Normalisation of Marks: Marks will be normalised to account for variation in difficulty levels across different sessions
- Phase-II Testing at ASC: State-wise shortlisted candidates will be called for:
- Document Verification
- Physical Fitness Test (PFT –I & PFT -II)
- Adaptability Test –I (Objective type written test)
- Adaptability Test – II (As per policy in vogue)
- Physical Fitness Details:
- PFT-I: 1.6 Km run (male: within 7 minutes, Female: within 8 minutes)
- PFT – II for male: 10 Push-ups (1 min), 20 Squats (1 min)
- PFT – II for female: 10 sit-ups (1 min 30 sec), 15 Squats (1 min)
- Phase-III – Medical Examination: Conducted by Air Force Medical Team as per IAF medical standards including baseline investigations (Blood tests, Urine tests, X-Ray, ECG, USG for females,ect)
- Application Medical Board: Available for candidates medically unfit (Fee: ₹40/-)
- Final Selection: Based on state-wise merit, Medical fitness, availability of vacancies, and meeting all eligibility criteria

Agniveervayu receive ₹30,000 monthly in the first year, increasing to ₹33,000 in second year, ₹36,500 in third year, and ₹ 40,000 in forth year. Additionally risk and hardship allowances, dress and travel allowances are provided. A Seva Nidhi package of approximately ₹ 10.04 Lakhs is given upon completion of four years.
