Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications ने GDS Online Engagement Schedule-II, July-2026 के तहत Branch Postmaster यानी BPM, Assistant Branch Postmaster यानी ABPM और Dak Sevak के लिए notification जारी किया है।

Official vacancy annexure के अनुसार पूरे India में कुल 23,757 tentative vacancies notify की गई हैं। Notification No. 17-12/2026-GDS 20 August 2026 को जारी हुआ है।

Official schedule के मुताबिक OTR 31 August से 19 September तक, application submission 2 September से 21 September 2026 तक और correction window 23–24 September 2026 तक उपलब्ध है। Closing time 5:00 PM है।

India Post GDS Vacancy 2026 – Circle Wise Posts

India Post GDS Recruitment 2026 में vacancies अलग-अलग Postal Circles और local languages के आधार पर distribute की गई हैं। Official Annexure-Ia में कुल 23,757 vacancies दर्ज हैं।

Category-wise total में 10,640 UR, 4,433 OBC, 3,082 SC, 2,773 ST और 2,160 EWS vacancies हैं। इसके अलावा अलग-अलग PwBD categories के लिए भी posts notify की गई हैं।

Important: Vacancy numbers tentative हैं और Department आवश्यकता के अनुसार notification/posts में बदलाव कर सकता है।

GDS, BPM और ABPM में क्या अंतर है?

बहुत से candidates India Post GDS Recruitment 2026 में apply करते समय BPM, ABPM और Dak Sevak को एक ही post समझ लेते हैं। इनकी duties अलग हैं।

1. Branch Postmaster – BPM

BPM मुख्य रूप से Branch Post Office के day-to-day operations संभालता है। इसमें postal operations, India Post Payments Bank transactions, departmental services की promotion और जरूरत के अनुसार mail-related duties शामिल हो सकती हैं।

Single-handed Branch Office में BPM office के overall functioning के लिए responsible होता है।

एक बेहद important condition यह है कि selected BPM candidate को Branch Post Office चलाने के लिए prescribed standard के अनुसार accommodation अपने cost पर arrange करना पड़ सकता है और उसे संबंधित post village में reside करना होता है।

2. Assistant Branch Postmaster – ABPM

ABPM, BPM की सहायता करता है। उसके काम में stamps/stationery sale, mail conveyance और delivery, IPPB transactions, postal operations और department की services से जुड़े दूसरे कार्य शामिल हो सकते हैं।

जरूरत पड़ने पर ABPM को BPM की combined duties भी दी जा सकती हैं। ABPM को संबंधित Post Office की delivery jurisdiction के भीतर reside करना होता है।

3. Dak Sevak

Dak Sevak को Post Office, Sorting Office, Mail Office, Transit Mail Office या Delivery Centre में लगाया जा सकता है।

काम में mail और parcels handle करना, delivery, stamps/stationery, IPPB transactions तथा Postmaster/Sub-Postmaster को office functioning में assist करना शामिल हो सकता है।

India Post GDS Eligibility – कौन Apply कर सकता है?

India Post GDS Recruitment 2026 में केवल 10th pass होना ही पूरी eligibility नहीं है। नीचे की conditions भी ध्यान से समझें।

Educational Qualification

Candidate के पास Government-recognized Board से Secondary School Examination यानी 10th pass certificate होना चाहिए।

10वीं में:

• Mathematics में passing marks
• English में passing marks

होना जरूरी है। Official notification के अनुसार किसी अन्य board की केवल “equivalent qualification” अपने-आप eligible नहीं मानी जाती।

Local Language Requirement

जिस post के लिए आप apply कर रहे हैं, उसकी prescribed Local Language कम से कम 10th standard तक पढ़ी हुई होनी चाहिए।

Circle और post के अनुसार local language अलग हो सकती है। Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Sikkim और Nagaland के लिए notification में special provisions भी दिए गए हैं।

इसलिए सिर्फ “All India vacancy” देखकर किसी भी Circle को select न करें। पहले उस post की local-language eligibility check करें।

Computer और Cycling Knowledge

Candidate से computer knowledge और cycling का knowledge भी expected है। Official undertaking में candidate को bicycle और/or two-wheeler चलाने की ability से संबंधित declaration देना पड़ सकता है।

Age Limit और Category-wise Relaxation

India Post GDS Recruitment 2026 के लिए minimum age 18 years और maximum age 40 years है। Age application submission की last date के आधार पर calculate की जाती है।

EWS category को reservation का benefit हो सकता है, लेकिन upper-age relaxation नहीं दिया गया है।

GDS Salary नहीं, TRCA समझिए

GDS को payment Time Related Continuity Allowance – TRCA के रूप में मिलता है।

TRCA पर rules की conditions पूरी होने पर annual increase और Government द्वारा समय-समय पर घोषित Dearness Allowance भी applicable हो सकता है। GDS Gratuity और Service Discharge Benefit Scheme जैसे benefits का भी provision है।

क्या GDS Regular Government Employee है?

नहीं।

Official notification साफ बताता है कि GDS, Department/Central Government के regular employees नहीं हैं और उनके allowances एवं entitlements regular Central Government employees के बराबर नहीं हैं।

GDS आमतौर पर rural areas में services देते हैं और notification के अनुसार उनके लिए सामान्य working requirement minimum 4 hours और maximum 5 hours per day है। साथ ही GDS से livelihood के लिए TRCA के अलावा another source of income रखने की expectation भी बताई गई है।

यह point form भरने से पहले समझना बहुत जरूरी है।

Application Fee कितनी है?

India Post GDS Recruitment 2026 में सामान्य applicable fee ₹100 है।

इन applicants को fee payment से exemption है:

• All Female Applicants
• SC
• ST
• PwBD
• Transwomen

Fee Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking या UPI जैसे available online modes से pay की जा सकती है। Paid fee सामान्यतः refundable नहीं है।

Selection Process – क्या कोई Exam होगा?

इस recruitment का सबसे बड़ा attraction है कि अलग written examination नहीं है।

Candidates की shortlisting system-generated merit list के आधार पर होगी।

Merit list recognized Board की 10th standard marks/grades से तैयार की जाती है और percentage को चार decimal places तक calculate किया जाता है।

अगर marksheet में marks दिए गए हैं, तो वही correctly enter करना जरूरी है। केवल grades/points वाली marksheet के लिए notification में prescribed conversion methodology लागू होती है।

इसलिए marks को अंदाजे से बदलकर enter करना भारी mistake हो सकती है।

Merit List के बाद क्या होगा?

Shortlisted candidate को SMS/email information मिल सकती है, लेकिन candidates को official portal नियमित रूप से check करने की सलाह दी गई है।

Shortlisting के बाद candidate को concerned Division/Unit में physical document verification के लिए report करना होगा। Notification में shortlisting के बाद निर्धारित period में verification attend करना जरूरी बताया गया है।

Document Verification में कौन से Documents चाहिए?

Shortlisted candidates को applicable original documents और self-attested photocopies के साथ verification के लिए जाना पड़ सकता है।

India Post GDS Form Online कैसे Apply करें?

India Post GDS Recruitment 2026 का application केवल online mode में submit करना है।

Step 1 – One-Time Registration

सबसे पहले official GDS Online Engagement Portal पर जाएं।

Registration के लिए आपका अपना active:

• Mobile Number
• Email ID
• 10th Board और passing year की details

ready रखें। Mobile और email OTP verification के बाद registration number generate होगा।

Step 2 – Login और Application Form

Registration number और password से login करें।

इसके बाद personal details और 10th Board/educational details fill करें।

Step 3 – Division और Post Preference

आपकी category, age, PwBD status और पढ़ी गई local language के आधार पर eligible posts दिखाई जाएंगी।

Candidate selected Division में eligible posts को preference order में choose कर सकता है। जिस post को preference नहीं देंगे, उसके लिए consideration नहीं होगा।

Step 4 – Photograph और Signature

Recent photograph और signature prescribed format में upload करें।

Blurred या unreadable photo/signature application rejection का कारण बन सकते हैं।

क्या 10वीं पास candidate GDS के लिए apply कर सकता है?

क्या GDS में Written Exam होता है?
