How to Apply Online (Step-by-Step)
Step 1 : Check Eligibility: €review the official notification for age education and medical standards
Step 2 : Visit Official Site: Go to RRB website for your zone ( e.g., rrbapply.gov.in) and find the group D link
Step 3 : New Registration: Click “New Registration” and fill in your Name, DOB, Email, and mobile number
Step 4 : Get Credentials: Receive your Registration ID and Password via SMS/Email.
Step 5 : Login: Use your ID password to log in to the portal
Step 6 : Fill Application From:
- Part 1: Enter personal education (10th pass details), category, general, and other eligibility info.
- Part 2: Select your preferred posts and Railway Zone in order of priority.
Step 7 : Upload Documents: Upload scanned Photograph and signature in JPEG format, keeping then ready beforehand.
Step 8 : Pay Fee: Pay the application fee through Net Banking, Card, UPI, or offline challan, as per instructions.
Step 9 : Bank Details: Enter bank details for refund (if applicable)
Step 10 : Review & Submit: Preview your complete application to check for errors, agree to terms and submit
Selection Process
- Computer Based Test (CBT)
- Duration: 90 minutes (120 minutes is eligible PwBD candidates)
- Total Questions: 100 multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
- Subject-wise Distribution:
- General Intelligence & Reasoning: 30 Questions
- General Science: 25 Questions.
- Mathematics: 25 Questions.
- General Awareness & Current Affairs: 20 Questions.
- Negative Marking: 1/3 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
- Qualifying Marks: Minimum 40% for UR/EWS, and 30% for OBC (NCL), SC, and ST candidates.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Candidates who qualify the CBT will be shortlisted for PET based on merit. This test is Qualifying in nature.
For Male Candidates:
- Life and carry 35 kg for 100 meters in 2 minutes in one attempt.
- Run 1000 meters in 4 minutes and 15 seconds in one attempt.
For Female Candidates
- Life and carry 20 kg for 100 meters in 2 minutes in one attempt.
- Run 1000 meters in 5 minutes and 40 seconds in one attempt.
Note : PwBD candidates with at least 40% disability are generally exempt from PET.
Document Verification (DV)
Candidates who pass both CBT and PET are called for document verification.
- Original documents such as the 10th class marksheet, ITI certificate, valid Photo ID (Adhar / Pan), and caste certificate (if applicable) are verified.
- Any discrepancy in documentation can lead to immediate disqualification.
- Medical Examination:
This is the final stage to ensure candidates meet the specific medical standards for their allotted posts.
- Tests include general physical fitness, vision (distant and near vision), and color blindness chek.
